Chapter 7

Nothing eventually became something. Voices. Angry voices. Speaking in… Spanish?

Ms Justice struggled to break free of the strange lethargy that gripped her. She finally forced her eyes to flutter open, but she still couldn't really move. At best, she managed a miserable groan and some writhing.

Overriding everything was a strange smell.

Chloroform!

Even knowing she lay helpless, at the utter mercy of evil men, she couldn't so much as clench a fist. Her body would not respond. Then she realized she wasn't writhing, so much as being manhandled by the wicked men. They were fondling her naked boobs! Two guys were pulling her legs apart, very wide, while another moved up between them. That's when she realized her shorts were pulled to the side.

"No," she managed to say, though so quietly they didn't seem to hear. So she mustered all she had and said, "No."

"She's waking up," one of the men said. "Give her another shot'a chloro."

"No, I want her awake and alert," Ricardo said. "Get Ms Justice on her knees."

An argument erupted. Ms Justice thanked God for it. Her would-be ravisher was NOT happy about the interruption. But Ricardo quickly pulled rank, and the groggy super heroine was pulled to her knees. Five men surrounded her, glaring down with such angry expressions. The chloroform in her system still wanted to pull her back down into oblivion, and she wondered if that might be better than consciously enduring what Ricardo had planned.

Lord, I went thirteen years in Philly without a capture or setback, she thought. I didn't even last a week in Synne City!

She looked all around. The man directly behind her had a white cloth in one hand, and a brown bottle in the other. Seeing those sent a shiver through her shapely body. Ricardo stood directly before her, once again holding her belt. She almost laughed. The belt might be nothing, but they had depowered her with the chloroform. Still, she was starting to recover a lot faster than she could've hoped.

If they'll just give me enough time.

"Hola, Ms Puta," Ricardo sneered.

"I've heard some dumb nicknames before, but that takes the cake."

He sneered at her, and then backhanded her.

"Ugh," she cried.

It hurt, but not that bad. Her Object of Power healed her fast, and gave her amazing endurance. It would take more than a backhand to take her out, chloroform or not. But the blow did help to clear her head a little more. She was finally able to clench her fists.

"I don't have to insult your name. I insult you!" he said, and spat in her face. "Paolo said you have never been defeated. Now you are, and I am the one to do it. I defeated Ms Justice."

"I'm sure your mother is proud of you."

He backhanded her again, this time busting her lip. It would heal fast, but he smirked at seeing the blood. And then he reached toward her face.

"Where are the Skulls?" she asked.

Relief washed through Ms Justice when Ricardo withdrew his hand to look around.
